This is a compilation of articles written by Palahniuk on different magazines. And I have to say that is very irregular: some of them are damn boring while others are fascinating. I don't know if the problem is that the three longest articles were a plain description of something that I understand as "too American for me" but it was very tedious to read about people that wrestle, construct castles by their own or participate in a demolition derby. Buuuut, on the other hand we have some fantastic short stories about Chuck's life and sharp reflections about the power of writing and the process involved during the creation of a story.
Last sunday I went to the cinema* to see Palahniuk's "Choke" ("Asfixia"). It´s not that I didn't enjoy it but it appeared to me just as a summary of the book. Maybe this is what a film about a novel is pretended to be, but I felt frustrated when, for example, the main's character mother, a grey coloured waiting for dying woman, is played by one of the helthiest actresses on earth: Angelica Houston.
Anyway, some of Palahniuk's sense of humour was catched on the movie, but definitely I recommend you the book, once again.
